The Sibelius Academy (Helsinki, Finland) announces its first international Environmental Opera Research Conference on 18 March 2022 from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm Eastern time (UTC-4 after Daylight Saving Time is observed in North America). This hybrid event is free of charge. Registration for Zoom or in-person attendance is open until 13 March 2022.

The event is organized by the University of the Arts Helsinki`s MuTri Doctoral School of Music Education, Jazz, and Folk Music, and the Opera Program, in collaboration with the research project Politics of Equality in Finnish Opera https://www.uniarts.fi/en/projects/politics-of-equality-in-finnish-opera/ (2017–2022), funded by the Academy of Finland. It is part of the world premiere events associated with the opera All the Truths We Cannot See: A Chernobyl Story (2021) by Uljas Pulkkis and Glenda D. Goss. It will be performed by the International Opera Program of Sibelius Academy, University of the Arts, Helsinki, Finland, and Vocal Department of Thornton school of Music, University of Southern California, Los Angeles, USA.
