Bourntec Solutions, CMM Level 3 software services and solutions company, are currently seeking a “Sr. Java Developer” for a “12+ Months” opportunity with one of our clients located in Eagan, MD. Role: Sr. Java Developer

Location: Eagan, MN.

Duration: 12+ Months

 

Below is the requirement for a Sr. Java Developer, however, Client is also interested in seeing candidates that have more modern development experience (CI/CD, Containers, Git, Jenkins, Dockers etc) and less experience.  

 

We are looking for a senior Java developer who enjoys backend coding and would be open to learning about the Client Planning Resource Auction while contributing to our Java codebase.  Additional knowledge of typescript, CSS, SQL, Spring boot, and Docker would be helpful. Client developers are a collaborative group who work closely together in an agile environment to provide quality code and are consistently improving their CI/CD pipeline.  The current team consists of 3 other developers and there is good interaction and partnership with the Business side.  Someone with the desire to learn and experienced enough to ask questions and not just code will succeed in this role.  Agile experience good but not required in this role.

Background:

• Software that manages auction for energy capacity…suppliers (Client members) get paid for having resources available.   Energy generation resources/loads capacity needs.
• Built in Java. Refactored recently, so has clean code. 
• UI is basic, HTML and some other technologies, so not a lot UI work
• Main language Java with Javascript
• Would like someone who can understand domain (business domain), someone who can take what they learn about the domain and be able to implement into solution
• Preferred:
• CICD ( continuous Integration continuous delivery pipeline) automation of development
• They are trying to add capacity to developers by leveraging continuous development
• Focus on backend Java development but DevOps is nice to have.

Team:

• Looking for more senior level need
• Has Dev w/3-4 yr of experience doing great but needs someone to help with “clean code” = more sr.  Or someone on the rise that is also passionate about clean code
• Someone who can code critique.
• Team:  3 devs, 1 QA, 1 product owner and a couple of business SME’s
• Good team; business is engaged (they come to some of their meetings)

 

Interviews:

• Start with 30 min phone
• EOY commitment, then extend to next year once budget cycle is complete.
