Dear friends,
So far we could still use about $540 to generously bless this family:
Friends, our sister Winnie Kaliyamuki, 16, was in school, but got pregnant during the long lockdown in Uganda. She went to a hospital to have the baby, but was given a C-section, leaving her dad, Thomas with a bill.
We know that a lockdown is no excuse to go have a baby out of wedlock and the guy who hooked up with her ought to foot the bill, but he's long gone, leaving the bill to Thomas.
Our Dad, Thomas, has a small piece of land that he gardens and grows corn on and maybe some occasional odd jobs here and there. He doesn't get payments from the government per child like we do now in the US.
Would you please help us with a gift for this family today, an amount that you will not miss, but which can make a big difference for Winnie and Thomas? The bill was $765. Please welcome Winnie's baby, Ellen, into the world. You'll also be helping a hospital that takes anyone, even without payment up front, which is not every hospital in Uganda.
You'll be happy to know that Uganda is a pro-life country. And Winnie will be raising her baby. Let's help them to be pro-life. And, please, young people, wait for marriage.
Please also set up a recurring donation to support our programs, such as sending young people to permaculture training at non-profits such as Connect Africa and the Permaculture Research Institute of Uganda.
