Dear friends,

Here’s an update on our current fundraiser for St. John Chrysostom School which ends April 16---for a perimeter chain link fence with steel posts cemented in the ground. The total cost is $7058. We now have $1974 saved. May God bless all who have donated! And I’m told a check for $473 is on the way. That will make $2447, which is 34% of the total.

Please donate if you are able before April 16! Perhaps give an amount that you will not really notice missing in your life, but which will benefit the children and the school greatly. Again the fence is to keep neighborhood cows and goats out and to make it so that everyone enters the school at the gate where ideally a guard will be posted. Also, in the near future there may be goats kept in several paddocks inside the fence.

Our school dean, Fr. Stephen sent these photos recently:

He writes: "I beg to inform you that our secondary school has been participating in games and sports running throughout the district competition. In football now our school came the second in position in the whole district.

“Today our students were scheduled to go and play football with another district, in Namwendwa Subcounty. This is their departure from school."

"The current enrollment in secondary is 147 students. Yet we ended with only 72 students by the end 2022."

"Generally, we are realizing the increase of students due to various good reasons. One: the good learning environment of the school compound: smart structures, with good water source. Two: well-teaching staff and good leadership of the administrators. Three: the general well discipline of the current students in school."

"Of which all that reached to by and through your support and every support from our good friends out there."

"Pray for our school to win in this now event they're going for. 🙏” Again, all that was from Fr. Stephen Lunagula.

A blessed day to you!
