Dear friends,
It’s been too long since my last update. The main reason for that is that I’ve been accepted into a study program in Theology called the Saint Irenaeus House of Orthodox Studies (SIHOS.org). That combined with my handyman work and raising a family and holding prayer services at my house has really slowed down my reporting. When I first started EcoMercy International I was working in the pest control industry and I would use my lunch break and even stay up very late writing reports and fundraisers. The staying up late I can’t seem to manage anymore and I also don’t manage to give myself a half our or hour long “lunch break” anymore. Anyway, please pray for me and continue to pray for Fr. Stephen Lunagula and Fr. Silouan Brown of Orthodox Africa.
100 percent of your donations continue to go to St. John Chrysostom School in Nakyaka, Uganda. I have been funding fewer things lately, just allowing the money to accrue in the account to pay for the construction needs that we have. Fr. Stephen has been gracious about this new state of affairs. Also, because I failed to keep up with some paperwork with the State of California they made Facebook cut off my ability to use use the Facebook fundraising tools. So I need to get that back up a running. In the mean time you can continue to donate via PayPal at EcoMercy.org.
A while back in April there was a bit of a natural disaster at St. John Chrysostom School. The roof of the dormitory was blown off. Finally on Sunday thanks to our monthly donors I was able fund the cost to rebuild the roof in such a way that it will not blow off. It will now have rebar and cement and wires strengthening the framework.
May God bless you for your continued support! Please see the photos below…
The wind made the porch roof fold up on top of the other one.
This porch roof was not constructed by Fr. Stephen under his direction. Back when we were moving an orphanage into this facility, I was working with the orphanage director who hired his own contractor to do this and I guess it was done incorrectly. So now Father Stephen is fixing it.
The budget below has been funded now. It cost about $1425.
Fr. Stephen’s son Stelio had left us for a while, but he came back recently and he is beginning to repair the roof. That is a blessing.
Now Stelio has plenty of spectators to watch him work!
May God bless the work 🙏🏿☦️
At this point we still need about $5000 more for the perimeter fence about $2800 in materials have been purchased and stored at the school. Please make a one-time donation at EcoMercy.org, become a monthly sustaining donor, or send a check to 97992 Hall Way, Harbor, OR 97415. Here’s the budget below:
A blessed day to you!
