Maybe you have heard about cap and trade -- often hailed as a climate solution for California? But did you also know that environmental justice groups across California filed a lawsuit to stop it?
The truth is, cap and trade would give our state’s biggest polluters the ability to buy their way out of reducing pollution and cleaning up the air in California’s poorest and most contaminated
communities. Polluters should be held accountable to clean up pollution, but a cap and trade program will miss the mark.
Governor Brown has a chance to make history by standing up for the planet and its people and saying no to a profit-making system.
