Dear colleagues in the ecology/environmental education community,
You may have seen news about The Nature Record (such as this NYTimes article, with a gift link so it should be free to access), which is a national undertaking to create a report about the state of nature in the US.
The chapters have very few mentions of environmental education. The word “education” only appears about a dozen times in the most relevant chapters, but only in very superficial ways.
The good news is that the drafted documents are open for public comment until May 30 at this link: https://naturerecord.org/chapters
You can provide comments directly in the chapters or at this link: https://naturerecord.org/contact
I thought I’d share in case anyone else is motivated to provide feedback to encourage the authors to include more information about environmental and ecology education.
Happy spring equinox,
Loren

“I promise you that I wrote the text myself….
I promise you that this is the cultural product of the human mind.
But can you be absolutely sure of it? A few years ago you could. …
Today things are different. In theory, the text you’ve just read might
have been generated by the alien intelligence of some computer.”
