Dear fellow ecology educators,
A group of us decided to organize an Inspire session for
next year's ESA Annual meeting. The theme of the session will be along
the lines of "Teaching Ecology in An Era of Uncertainty" - which mirrors
the theme of the annual meeting. We are now asking for presenters. We
are hoping for presentations that collectively cover a wide range of
topics relating to education, including K-12, undergraduate majors,
undergraduate non-majors, graduate, adult, and informal education.
Hopefully you will agree that this is a really important theme, and you
will be able to come up with something good.
In
view of the upcoming deadline for session proposals, responses provided
by 5:00 PM, Saturday (18 October) would be most appreciated. At this
point, all that I need is a title. But if you want to include a couple
of sentences to elaborate on your idea, they would be welcome as well.
If you are concerned about running afoul of ESA's one-presentation rule, please remember that you are allowed to give an education-related presentation in addition to a science-oriented one.
Please email your proposed title to me at my address given below.
I look forward to hearing from you. Please feel free to forward this email to others who may not be on this list. I welcome any questions you may have.
Thank you.
Ken
