Dear EcoEd Community,

I am writing to let you know that EENM is now accepting applications for the 2026 NM Youth Outdoors Grant! These micro grants ($3,000-$5,000) are non-recurring and will be allocated to New Mexico nonprofits, schools, Pueblos, and Tribes that advance outdoor equity by implementing outdoor programs for youth who may not otherwise have the chance to learn, play, and grow outside. Apply here by June 10th!

TIMELINE
Applications will open May 12 and close June 10, 2026. Decisions will be announced Summer 2026. Grant funding is expected to be spent by June of 2027. Late applications will not be accepted.

FUNDING RESTRICTIONS:
Funds may not be used to influence any legislation or the outcome of any election, to conduct a voter registration drive, or to pay for the overhead expenses of such activities. Grant funds must be used to support direct programming with youth, and may not be used towards the general operating costs of an organization. See below for examples of projects that would qualify to receive funding.

QUESTIONS
For questions about this opportunity, please reach out to EENM coordinator, Jordan Bosiljevac at in...@eenm.org.

EXAMPLE PROJECTS:
The below projects are examples of (but not limited to) what would be eligible to receive funding:

Project 1 - Garden Internships
Title-I school hosts four garden interns for four hours a week over the summer. Grant funding provides stipends for interns to learn basic gardening skills and for gardening supplies for the upcoming year.

Project 2 - Summer Camping Trip
Organization takes middle school girls on a weeklong camping trip to learn about public lands, wildlife, and survival skills. Funding supports camping supplies, food, transportation, and other costs associated with the program.

Please share this resource with your networks (flyer attached for sharing).

Best,
Jordan Bosiljevac
