Hello educators and partners in outdoor ed,
Just a friendly reminder that our upcoming free professional development virtual session is happening this Thursday, May 21st, from 4:00–5:30 PM!
Growing Pains: Moving Campus Gardens Beyond Administrative Barriers
This session will explore how to create, sustain, and strengthen school gardens and outdoor learning spaces—whether you are just getting started or looking to expand existing programs. You’ll walk away with practical ideas, inspiration, and real-world strategies to support outdoor learning in your school community.
We are excited to welcome Amara Szrom, an environmental educator whose work focuses on reconnecting youth to the life-giving systems of soil, water, plants, and community. Over the past 13 years, Amara has led a wide range of outdoor learning programs, including an inner-city rooftop garden for preschoolers, a university campus garden, and an elementary outdoor classroom transformed from an unused basketball court into a thriving garden with rainwater catchment, a pond, and fruit trees.
This is a great opportunity to gather ideas, connect with others doing this work, and leave feeling inspired to grow what’s possible at your own site.
