Hi everyone,
I am offering another botanical bike ride on November 8th! This program is offered through my work as Song Dog Relations, which provides bilingual programs and services rooted in land, art and connection as a way to create a sense of belonging for our communities in New Mexico and the greater Southwest.
Registration is open to all and offered to a sliding scale exchange. You do not need to be bilingual to attend, as we will be facilitating mostly in English and sharing words for plants, birds and ecological terms in Spanish and Nahuatl when possible. Participants should expect to bike up to 8 miles total on mostly flat, paved bike paths along the bosque in downtown Albuquerque. Students will learn the basics of botany (medicinal and cultural practices), birding 101 (
Spanish and Nahuatl names) and stretch their nature writing skills (inspired by authors such as Lakota writer
Thomas C. Gannon).
Please share with your communities and colleagues, pamparios! The flyer is also attached to help distribute among your platforms. Thank you!
