Attached is a revised presentation of today's lecture. Please replace the previous one.
By now, you might have an idea of what your midterm grades were. Many of you failed, not because of poor exam scores, but because of attendance. And I am really serious about it: Some of you will fail because of excess absences.
But I am not a bad person. For those who have excess absences, you still have the finals and the one pagers to submit so it is not too late to turn it around. Other than that, I can not at this point think of any other special exam or project. I believe I have been generous enough when it comes to this.
A final reminder then. All one-pagers must be submitted next Saturday. After Saturday, no papers will be accepted.
As some of you have voted we will have an open book, open notes final exam. I will be very strict this time. While I will allow you to bring all the notes, the books, even a prayer book (if it will help), there will NO SHARING, NO BORROWING OF NOTES/BOOKS/MATERIALS. ANYONE CAUGHT DURING THE FINAL EXAM WILL AUTOMATICALLY GET FAILING GRADE FOR THE FINAL EXAM.
While the coverage will be all the topics we have covered since day one, most of the questions will come from today and next week's lecture. Also, we will have combination of multiple choice and essay.
Finally, please be present next week and in the finals. THERE WILL BE NO SPECIAL FINAL EXAM FOR ANYONE ABSENT ON AUGUST 31.
Have a safe and dry weekend and see you all next week and the week after next.
