New Winter Hours and Free Beekeeping Class

Greetings everybody,

Just a quick addition to the last big volunteer newsletter.  We have decided to suspend Monday volunteer hours until February at the earliest.  Things are slowing down around here.  However, do come during Thursdays (8-12) and Saturdays (9-3) still!  And you probably figured out by now the next 2 saturdays are also canceled due to the holidays.

About the beekeeping class we announced last time, it will be January 15 and February 12 starting at 10am.  We will be meeting in the office, instead of the hoophouses, which is located at:

Riverdale Park, MD 20737

(only 5 minutes from the farm)

Bring a notepad and some cheer!  One of our New Urban Farmer Training participants, Jose Castillo, is an agronomist and experienced local beekeeper from Guatemala.  He said he'll start at 10am and will probably go 2-3 hours; he will go longer if folks are willing to stay and keep discussing beekeeping.  The class is FREE, although we encourage donations ;)  I'll be sure to make another announcement a week in advance.
