I really enjoyed the presentation by Sarah and Ian. I really learned a lot about immigration that I never knew about. I never would have guess that of the new US Residents, that India was 6.4% , that really shocked me as well. Also learning about the different view points on Immigration from the Republican and Democratic perspective sides was very interesting to me with me being an Independent. I agree with some of the Republican's perspectives on certain topics and the Democratic's perspectives on other topics. One thing in particular I agreed on the most is, if a Immigrant does something wrong I feel that the individual should be punished and not the entire population of Immigrants. I feel that everyone deserves a fair and equal chance and not to be classified as a whole but as equal individuals. Overall, great presentation and topic.

I saw on the news the other day that Governor Pat McCrory was a North Carolina's Indian heritage festival, and plans to increase trade and business with India.  Pat McCrory and his board estimated that this would launched next year.  Do you think that this will increase the population of Indian immigrants?  In addition, do you think they will enter the country/state legally or illegally?

I agree with Ebone! This was a very well put together presentation on a topic I am not 100% on where I stand yet. I agree with certain parts of republican and democratic stands, but I think my main problem is that I do not know the raw information, rather what news station who lean a specific political way present to me. I did not know how complex this phenomenon was. I felt this presentation was very helpful and informative.

One thing I found interesting about this presentation was how back then when the US was allowing immigrants into the country, no Asians were allowed whatsoever (I'm not sure if it was a Democratic or Republican view). This was a little shocking to me because 1. I did not know about that law, and 2. if it was still in action today I would not be here, being that my grandmother was an immigrant from Japan. Overall, I found myself agreeing and disagreeing with many points from both perspectives and I found the presentation to be very informative.

I am so glad that you all enjoyed my presentation! I really found the topic of immigration to be extremely fascinating and never ending! I learned a lot of things while researching this topic. I was also very surprised to learn about the differences in political parties and the way th
