Do politics play a role in the military force

I think politics do influence the military force because most republicans were all for the war in Iraq, and most democrats are opposed to the war. They think it was unnecessary costly to the U.S. economy.

Politics definitely influences military forces. A soldier's COC (chain of command) is directly linked to the president. even though, wars can only be approved by Congress, it is still a matter of politics: what one party thinks is right over another, liberal views verses conservative, etc etc

Of course politics influence the military force. Who is the commander and cheif? The president. Who determines the whether the military goes to war or not? The government. The military is directly linked to politics.
