I had been looking at the causes of the national debt, but I found this presentation to be very informative as to how large the problem is growing every minute. In addition to addressing how bad the problem is, they offered solutions. However, I wish they would have touched a little more on how the debt became so terrible. I think it is important for the population to realize that the government is spiraling out of control with their spending and that we need to take steps in another direction to ease the debt.

I saw a picture in the Rolling Stones about the National Debt that describes what we're doing to the National Debt as of today. Here is said picture: http://assets.rollingstone.com/assets/images/story/the-mad-science-of-the-national-debt-20130522/1000x306/20130521-mad-science-nat-aff-306x-1369159821.jpg

I liked the presentation overall. However, I agree that we would've liked to know the source of the National Debt and how it became what it is. I think a big chunk of it has to do with the war in the Middle East. Weapons were apparently so important that we had to spend billions of dollars on them.

I agree that the population should know just how much we are in debt so that we can all pull together to come to a solution on how to start paying it off more efficiently and effectively as previously thought. The government by itself can not take on such an huge and strenuous task alone.

@Sekoya The thing is, is that the government are the one's that are primarily doing all the spending. Granted the situation calls for it such as war, natural disasters, etc. At this point the only possible way I see us paying all of the debt we owe, well for one will be past our lifetime in all likeliness, and is through another World War. And that is the last possible thing we need.

I also learned a lot from this topic of national debt. I really liked how the girls showed the debt at the beginning of the presentation and then again at the end to show how much it had increased. I think national debt is a very important issue today and there many different solutions to this topic, although many of the solutions often carry heavy disadvantages. I think it's important to understand the actual reasons behind why we are so in debt, so that we can better understand the problem in the future. I also thought the graphic they created was very helpful--it was interesting to see all of our history in national debt and how it relates to the current wars that were occurring at the time.
