Cardiac ecmo

Last week we got 3 calls for ecmo for cardiogenic shock. In these 2 were adults who were not weaning off from bypass surgery. Of these two, One was ‎a valve replacement which I have mentioned earlier. The commendable point is that while both the patients were waiting for us to reach there, the parent hospitals continued the patients on extended cardiopulmonary support inorder to protect the patient from cardiac insufficiency. This message is a example of positive approach towards ecmoism in our fraternity.
