Dear Friends, Family & JLA Redress Supporters,
The struggle for Japanese Latin American (JLA) redress is not over!
Please sign and share our new petition by Feb. 19 to ensure the public hearing for the Shibayama brothers!
The three Shibayama brothers – Art, Ken, and Tak – have been carrying on the JLA redress struggle for decades. Finding no justice in the US courts, the halls of Congress, nor the White House, they went to the international community and filed a petition with the Inter-American Commission on Human Rights (IACHR). After 13 years of waiting, the Shibayama brothers are hoping to finally get a public hearing in March 2017 in Washington DC. The IACHR needs to hear from you to make this happen.
Here's how you can help:
We want to collect 2,264 signatures by February 19th, as the Day of Remembrance is commemorated. Each signature will represent one of the Japanese Latin Americans who were taken from their homes and interned in the United States as hostages during WWII. You can give voice to their call for redress and justice. With your help, we can reach this goal. https://www.change.org/p/inter-american-commission-on-human-rights-justice-now-for-the-shibayama-brothers
