Hey,

Stephen and I vote for Jackson. It is closer and the climbing is not so spread out.

Who is planning on driving? If someone takes a truck we can take a bunch of crash pads to exlplore the boldering at Jackson.
I hear that there are some good problems there.

For down there, a couple of large ones and a small one would be adequate. I guess we could strap them down to my roof rails if we wanted to...

Just an update… My crew and I are headed to Jackson Falls the weekend
of October 10th. If I have my way we will leave Thursday night and
set up camp in the dark. There should be a car or two coming down on
Friday morning, I also know of one car coming down Saturday so carpool
options are available.

I will be driving a truck to haul all my gear down and I will have
plenty of room for crash pads for those who want to boulder but don’t
have room in the car for a crash pad. Just let me know if you want me
to haul something down (cooler, table, etc.).

Quick gear check… who that is coming owns a rope or draws … guide book
(climbing and or bouldering)?

count me in. I have 10 draws and a crashpad. I retired my rope last time i went climbing at the red due to some flat spots and a couple hard falls. I wont be able to leave on thursday but I can carpool with someone on friday morning or saturday. I plan on buying the third edition to vertical heartland. I maybe able to attend bouldering next wednesday if im not working.

I've got my rope and draws, and we can take the club rope/draws as well. I'm happy to rope-gun for whomever wants to get on the easier climbs. I too would like to leave Thursday night.

For those who haven't gone on an outdoor climbing trip before (I'm sure there's at least a couple here), I'll post a suggested gear list for Jackson, since the area has its own quirks (no available water source, for example).

A suggestion - last time I took a group down here, we travelled together as a group of twelve or so through the canyon. Why don't we try breaking into smaller groups this time? I think the availability of gear and lead climbers this time should allow that to happen more easily.

Looking forward to it...

P.S. I just ordered my own copy of the guidebook, so we'll at least have two copies. Sorry I haven't been making it to bouldering night; my class schedule is in the way.
