One thing I have not really done is a 'How-to' on the hardware buttons of the Life-Recorder. As some units are arriving, here is some help:

Buttons:
Power - Slider on the left
Select - Small circle button inside the larger ring.
Home - Button with the home label
Volume - Right hand side

Turning On
Slide and _hold_ the power button up until you see the unit power on. It should show a splash image and then begin recording.

Turing Off
Slide and _hold_ the power button up until you see the shutting down message.

Tagging
Click on the 'Home' button. If you want to confirm a tag has been created, the timer will reset to 0:00

Setting the date/time
It is important that your unit has the correct date. I try to set the time to your timezone before shipping but you can check, set the time.
From the recording screen push the power button up briefly. This will take you to a menu screen. Select "Set Date/Time" and hover over the date time fields.
Click up and down on the the larger ring to set the value, and left and right to navigate. The clock is in 24 hr format.
After the time is set, you will return to the menu. To go back to recording, Turn off the unit and turn back on (to be fixed)

Changing the Recording Volume
If you notice clipping in your recordings (too loud, clicking, etc) you might adjust the recording level. While on the recording screen, hold the volume button up or down.
You will see the gain value change accordingly. I prefer:
15 - for very quiet environments
6 - for general use

For very loud environments you may have to drop it lower.

This should be enough to get you started. Any questions please ask.

Ryan
