“5 AÑOS MUSEO HELGA DE ALVEAR, CÁCERES = ¡SI PUEDES HACERLO AQUÍ PUEDES HACERLO EN CUALQUIER LUGAR!", un ambicioso programa diseñado en colaboración con el artista Thomas Hirschhorn con más de 40 horas de arte, música y encuentros, más allá de las fronteras del Museo, para celebrar los 5 años del Museo Helga de Alvear en Cáceres y seguir homenajeando a nuestra principal impulsora, Helga de Alvear.
Como parte de la programación, Thomas Hirschhorn presenta su primer proyecto de arte público en España y Portugal. Con “POP-UP-MARILYN” el artista llevará un Warhol original de la Colección Helga de Alvear a las estaciones de tren de Atocha (Madrid, 24 de febrero, cerca de salidas de planta -1 ) y Gare do Oriente (Lisboa, 26 de febrero, entrada principal), conectado Cáceres con las capitales de la península ibérica.
La celebración culminará el fin de semana con una gran fiesta inclusiva, intervenciones del artista en los espacios del museo, sesiones de DJ, nuevas obras, cine, degustaciones gastronómicas y decenas de visitas, talleres y actividades gratuitas para todos los públicos en Cáceres el viernes 27 y sábado 28 de febrero y domingo 1 de marzo.

“5 YEARS OF MUSEO HELGA DE ALVEAR, CÁCERES = IF YOU CAN MAKE IT HERE, YOU CAN MAKE IT ANYWHERE!”, an ambitious programme conceived in collaboration with Thomas Hirschhorn, with more than 40 hours of art, music, and encounters, beyond the museum frontiers, to celebrate five years of Helga de Alvear in Cáceres and continue honouring our founder, Helga de Alvear.
As part of the program, Thomas Hirschhorn will present his first public art project in Spain and Portugal. With “POP-UP-MARILYN”, the artist will bring an original Warhol from the Helga de Alvear Collection to the Atocha Station (Madrid, February 24, near by the departures entrance at floor -1) and Gare do Oriente (Lisbon, February 26, main entrance), connecting Cáceres with the capitals of the Iberian Peninsula.
The celebration will culminate over the weekend with a large inclusive party, interventions in the museum spaces by the artist, DJ sessions, new works on display, cinema, food tastings, and dozens of tours, workshops and free activities for all audiences in Cáceres on Friday and Santurday February 27 and 28 and Sunday March 1.
