So yes, we're giving away free tickets to Bumbershoot if you come and
do a short event with us this weekend. If you already have a ticket,
we might even be able to give you a ticket for a different day. Or
you're welcome to participate even if you don't need a ticket. But
seriously guys, I have an envelope full of participant credentials at
home for us to use and I only need 1 for myself. Here's some more
details about events where we're still looking for people:
Sunday the 4th- Board Meeting
We'll be staging a full board meeting- suits, corporate jargon, flow
charts- in the middle of a music festival. It's going to be great.
This one is also for people looking to put the "improv" in "street
improv." We'll have some aids and discussion points to help you, but
you'll get to improvise everything you're actually saying. As long as
it sounds like corporate jargon and you aren't actually saying
anything. An example sentence: "Perhaps if we scale back the top-down
management model we can increase synergy and ultimately improve
production, positively impacting our company's bottom line." People
are going to be so confused and amused. It's going to be fantastic. I
should also note that we'll have a green room where you can leave your
business clothes before/after the event if you don't want to wear them
around. Details on exact times and pre-event meeting point will be
emailed to people who want to be involved (see important info below).
Expect the whole thing to take an hour to an hour and a half,
mid-afternoon.
Monday the 5th- Hokey Pokey and Cheer Tunnel
We did both of these at Bumbershoot 2 years ago, and everyone had such
a good time that we're doing them again! The hokey pokey will be done
in a large circle around the international fountain, with people
gradually joining in as it progresses. Remember- right foot, left
foot, right hand, left hand, head, backside, whole self. We're aware
there are like a bazillion versions with every possible body part. But
that's the one that seems to be most standard so we're going for that
one. For the cheer tunnel...like what your parents did at the end of
your soccer games when you were 7. Stand across from someone with your
hands up so that you create a tunnel. The tunnel will both appear and
disappear suddenly over a walkway several times. Both events will
probably take around an hour, mid-afternoon.
IMPORTANT
So if you would like a free Bumbershoot ticket to come and do these
events with us, and then PLEASE EMAIL US AT IN...@EMERALDCITYIMPROV.ORG
with what day(s) you want to come, your name, age, and if you own a
suit or pantsuit (for the board meeting).
Cheers,
Luke and Kelsey
