ECHS 2nd in the CA state-wide track champions

On Saturday, May 30, the ECHS 4x400 meter relay team (Kamari Harris, Chad Works-Wright, Michael Boyer, Phinehas Browne) placed second in the California CIF State Championships behind Servite High School (Anaheim CA) by only 4.13 seconds. (3:07.62 vs 3:11.75; El Cerrito beat Servite in the qualifying race)

• ECHS 4x4 is the fastest team in all of Northern California (North of the Grapevine).
• They broke the record previously set by Berkeley High in 1981. No team has been as fast as the current 4x4 team in Northern California for 45 years!

 

The 4x100 meter relay team (Jaylyn Smallwood, Chad Works-Wright, Michael Boyer, Phinehas Browne) is also the fastest in Northern California (North of the Grapevine).

 

These same team members also participated in the CIF state qualifying individual events on Friday:

• Boys 100m Dash Varsity:  Chad Works-Wright
• Boys 200m Dash Varsity: Michael Boyer
• Boys 400m Dash Varsity: Phinehas Brown
