Welcome new students and families to El Cerrito High School PTSA!

 

"I know PTA, what is PTSA?"  

In high school, students can join, thus Parent Teacher Student Association (PTSA).  We have student representatives give reports at our PTSA meetings so that we can hear what they have to say about what's going on in school. In fact we encourage ALL parents, guardians, students and important adult relatives to join PTSA and support El Cerrito High School.  It's easy to join and make donations via the TOTEM Portal:   https://jointotem.com/ca/el-cerrito/el-cerrito-high-ptsa.

 

"What does El Cerrito High's PTSA do?"

We're all about communication and community building!  We have 4 general meetings a year along with more informal events such as Coffee with the Principal to keep you informed.  

 

We also

·  Sponsor the annual PTA Arts Contest for ECHS.  This past year we offered small mini-grants for supplies for the Contest.
·  Provide teacher "goodie bags" with classroom supplies at the start of each semester and support additional classroom requests via our Wishlist.
·  Provide food or treats for monthly staff meetings.
·  Sponsor students to the PTA Legislative Conference in Sacramento
·  Link school needs with volunteers, such as the Prom Clothes Closet

"I've enjoyed PTA previously, what can I do at El Cerrito High?"  

We need parents and guardians to join our Board!  We want your ideas, perspectives, and involvement. And it's not nearly as much work as an elementary or middle school PTA, we promise!

   

Although we have existing parents ready to "step up", we're making room for you and currently taking volunteers/nominations for most positions for the 2022-23 school year:

·  Membership Chair

·  Communications/Outreach Coordinator

·  Hospitality Committee

·  Wish List Coordinator
