Hello CEP Community,
Please share this information with your students about this wonderful event that BRRC is hosting! There is also a link to sign up for their newsletter to receive more information.

I hope you are doing well and staying safe. My name is Jordan Goodwin and I am the Outreach Co-Coordinator for UC Berkeley's Black Recruitment and Retention Center; my Co-Coordinator Andin Ngwa is also CC'ed on this email. If you did not know, BRRC was founded in 1983 and is a Black student-initiated, student-run organization at the University of California, Berkeley. BRRC is designed to help increase the number of Black students, enrolling in and graduating from Cal. Through our recruitment and retention efforts, we seek to supplement, expand, and create efforts on campus and within the community toward the recruitment and retention of Black students.

I am emailing to inform you of our upcoming sessions designed to bridge the gap between low-income Black high school students and higher education. However, all Black high schoolers are welcome to attend. These sessions will also include free raffle prizes including. but not limited to, Cal gear and gift cards. Our first panel session, taking place next Friday (2/19) from 5:00-6:30 pm, will focus on life at Berkeley. Students will be able to pose their questions to current Berkeley students and find out more about the Cal experience. Any interested Black high school students can sign up at tinyurl.com/PANEL1RSVP. Our second panel will take place Friday, February 26th from 5:00-6:30 pm. This panel will focus solely on academics at Berkeley, ranging from different majors offered to research opportunities. Any interested students can sign up at tinyurl.com/PANEL2RSVP.

To receive more information about our sessions this semester (including dates/times, zoom links, flyers, speakers, prizes, and more) students, parents, and counselors should sign up for our newsletter here. This newsletter will go out bi-weekly and include information about our upcoming events as well as additional resources for students.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could disseminate this information to any Black students you may have access to. I have attached the flyers to this email as well. I can be reached at jordan...@berkeley.edu or brrcou...@gmail.com should you or your students have any questions.

Thank you,
Jordan Goodwin
