Persuasive Letter Rubric and Grade Update

Dear Scholars,

I'm proud of the work you did on Friday in block two with our debate.  It speaks to each side's skill that both sides, regardless of who "won," received an A.  I want to give a particular shout out to Trava and Jakob: though your team did not win, you were two of the MVPs of the debate in my mind.  Block four, the expectations are high for our debate on Monday!

Here are two items that I'd like you to take a look at.  The first is the Persuasive Letter Rubric:  I don't think anything will come as a surprise, but please read it carefully as you make your revisions so that you are ready to move on to edits during Monday's workshop.  The second is the first grade update for Q2.  Please let me know if you feel I have made any errors.  I know in particular that I may have missed a couple of people that deserve an A+ for the debate.  Let me know if that's you.

PS:  I'm also including the persuasive letter outline that I give to my English 2 students.  You are ready to move beyond cookie cutter outlines, but look back over this and consider what organizational principles you might retain from it.
