Hi All,

As you have probably heard, we are on the hunt for this year's graduation speakers! Here's some basic info regarding Grad Speakers at ECHS: unlike other schools, where the school president and the valedictorian deliver the commencement speech, at ECHS it is open for competition to all. ANYONE interested, with something to say to their classmates on that final day, is welcome to try-out.

Here are the top reasons why I encourage you to sign-up:

1. You are wonderful people with something important to say.

2. You will make your teachers, your family, and your self very proud.

3. You are mighty rhetoricians who have all the tools on your belt to write an oomphatic speech.

4. Each of you took this class because you wanted to push yourself. Think of this opportunity as one last push. If you're shy, you have double the reason to do this. You're stepping into adulthood; it's time to be bold!

5. If your speech is stirring enough, you just might make Mr. Douglas weep. It's a rare sight that few young scholars have seen.
