split_codes question

Hello,

With regards to the split_codes method in the echoprint-server.  If I'm running a local server (solr + tt) to look up fingerprints for local catalog deduping and I standardize on 30 second fingerprints for all of my tracks, is there an advantage to splitting the codes prior to ingesting?
