I experience very slow save time (about 1 minute) since I upgraded to latest version of Ventura (13.1) and Photoshop (24). The file I'm saving is a simple photo, with couple layers. Sometimes there is progression in percentage, but most of the time it's simply stuck at 99% for the whole save operation duration. I have a MacBook Pro M1 Max. I even tried reinstalling MacOS from scratch and it doesn't work... Photoshop was reinstalled without any user preference: everything is factory settings. I tried reverting to Photoshop 23, and it doesn't work...
Try logging into another user account (you may need to make one), still slow?
Try starting up in Safe mode (hold down Shift Key when booting), still slow?
You might want to try running a free utility like Onyx: still slow?

Thanks for all replies. I'm saving the file locally, right in "Documents" folder. Nothing fancy. I did try to disable Native Canvas, without success. I didn't try the CC Cleaner tool, but I can't imagine how a OSX reinstall wouldn't do the same... nothing survives an OS reinstall. I simply just formatted the whole computer, installed CC & Photoshop and did the save test: still slow.
I'm on an M1 with the current release of Photoshop, but I am still on Monterey - there have been so many issues with Ventura I've stayed back to avoid them. Not just with Adobe products either, Microsoft and others too.
Do you have a scratch disk installed? I always had that same problem, especially with pdfs, until I got a dedicated scratch disk. I use a Samsung SSD now, but previously I used a WD HDD, and either way, it makes a huge difference when saving files.
The other issue is that the drive simply unmount itself after either in sleep mode or simply randomly. That issue appears to happen for a long time already and should finally be investigated by SanDisk!
And as said, the other issue is the the disk randomly unmounts itself on MacOS! Are you guys not reading customer reviews on Reddit and similar do you guys not test that app on the hardware you are shipping too?
I just want to follow up on my previous post. The Sandisk Security app that comes with the drive is indeed very buggy, in my case, on macOS Ventura. However, I just re-installed the latest version of the app from this site -en.wd.com/app/products/product-detailweb/p/8729 and most of the bugs have been fixed (I used version 1.0.0.7).
Secondly, the drive was not recognized by the application because initially I upgraded the app to WD Security (blue app icon - not red).
Using latest version of the security app I was able to remove the unlocker partition from my drive.
I am also face the same problem on MacOS ventura 13.2.
In addition to problem stated above i have one more problem.
Auto unlock feature is not working. I have tried to reinstall software but it is not working.
Please release provide the solution.
I am facing the same issue. The drive will simply unmount itself after entering sleep mode, and the app does not even respect auto-unlock (even though the check-box is enabled in the app) after the device reboots. I have to put in the password each time there is a reboot and/or sleep mode.
Hi posidron,
Same boat. I am locked out of my SanDisk Extreme, because it had a spining wheel when I closed the macbook with the drive attached. Then it locks me out, I have tried my known password and it it not letting me in.
I have contacted SanDisk 3 times. No help.
