Designs, develops, and implements web-based Java applications to support business requirements.
Follows approved life cycle methodologies, creates design documents, and performs program coding and testing.
Resolves technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
Requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty and 4-6 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field.
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager.
Job Description – Senior Level Java Developer/Architect
The Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) is looking to hire two contractors to perform Java Development in our environment for approximately the next year to eighteen months. These contractors will be working on our Consultant Management System which will be utilized by the Division of Transportations System Development (DTSD) in the area of plan development. We are looking for developers who possess the following skills and experience:
1. Experience in developing production web applications in a team environment.
2. Java Development with Eclipse
3. Experience with using Java Hibernate Framework.
4. Experience with Java JDK 1.X
5. Experience with Java Struts Framework
6. Some experience using Mavin.
The successful candidates will be self starters who can develop solid applications in the team environment on time and within budget.
