I ran DRC and got many of these errors. What do they mean? This is
before doing any layout.

Hi Tony,

Looks likely, that you haven't changed the grid-size to the value as suggested in the lab-instruction.
You should appropriately change the grid size first before running DRC. About the Q5-related error, it looks like
you haven't configured the number of metal levels approriately in your library as well as the tech-library. so look for those settings correctly.
Let us know if it fixes your problem.

Rajeev,

I managed to fix the grid-size error, however I don't know how to
eliminate the Q5 error.
Under IBM_PDK -> Library -> Add A&MS Properties, I have M6 set.
library=ece453 , # of metal = m6, tech=bicmos6hp mim=nitride.

Hi Tony,

Since, the grid-size error is fixed, I think you can proceed with the layout.Q5 is a layer that's used in mim-cap and for the mim-cap there is a specific way to do the layout. So, if you proceed doing the layout for mim-cap as is instructed in the lab-instruction document, you would be able to eliminate that error. Though, before connection there is no logical reasoning as to why it should have flagged an error. Will look into it once around if it doesn't get fixed.

Regards
Rajeev
