Looking back at old dance videos I published almost 10 years ago, makes me want to improve them. I want to apply all the improvements in editing and style that I've learned over the years. I can't improve the actual dancing in the video but I can edit out rounds that aren't so great and add more dance and tune documentation.
My main improvements to Newcastle Circle are editing out unnecessary dance sequences and adding more dance and tune documentation. I removed the caller's voice as the calls were not very clear or helpful. Plus, if the viewer turns on closed captions, the dance instruction subtitles are more complete than the caller's calls. I think dance subtitles help viewers learn the dance faster.
It's interesting how dancers sometimes improvise a dance, adding what they think is appropriate. In this dance, dancers decided to hold hands as they moved into the center of the circle, even though the caller never suggested that.
