"The Turning of the Year" by Mike Richardson was published in CDSS New #152, January/February 2000 and in the Boston Centre's "By Choice", Volume 8 book & CD. The dance is set to the tune "My Cape Breton Home" by Cape Breton fiddler Jerry Holland.

Sometimes a beautiful tune such as  "My Cape Breton Home" provides the inspiration for several dances.

Philippe Callens wrote a contra, "The American Summer", to this tune.

I wrote "My Cape Breton Home" to this tune to honor Canada's 150th birthday celebrations.

Gee, I wonder if there's any similar dance composition effort to honor America's 250th birthday celebrations.
