Dear All:

This Saturday we will have fellowship from 6:30-8pm. If it continue to snow, then we can change it to zoom.

We will talk about several items during the meeting. If time allows, then we can watch the Video as Lauren suggested for bible study.

Thank You

Blessings

Qing

Hello brothers and sisters,

Cao Qing and I prepared a list of discussion topics for our fellowship this Saturday. I hope to share this in advance to provide ample time to think through. Thank you and see you on Saturday.
  • Any interest in a fellowship Christmas party? If yes, then when?
  • Does anyone have the calling to become the coordinator for next year?
  • Gathering with Family North on Jan 7th - Let's think about the format (ie. food or not) and how to approach.
  • In addition to expansion, our fellowship can use some renovation:
    • What's our mission statement? Or, what do we aim to achieve in the short-term (ie. two years)?
    • Emphasize the importance of prayer as a fellowship and Sunday morning bible study.
    • Let's plan for next year. For example, any interest in a retreat?
    • Let's align on our priorities: church > fellowship > personal plans
Stay warm and safe !
Michael

Thank you to both Qing and Michael!
Our Samuel Fellowship is facing an important, meaningful, and also critical pivot point. I really look forward to our gathering tomorrow and have been and will continue to pray for all the things both Qing and Michael brought up in the emails. I have been reminded by God with this verse this past week whenever I pray for our lovely fellowship.

Mathew 7:7
“Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.

See you all tomorrow~

Blessings,
Justina

Hello brothers and sisters,

Please let me quickly recap our discussion tonight:
    • Any interest in a fellowship Christmas party?
      • Plan A is to meet after church on Sunday, 12/18 (Please bring snacks + $10 gift per child. Justina will help reserve a room). If this doesn't work, we will move up to 12/10. If this still doesn't work, then we will meet on Saturday evening, 12/17.
    • Does anyone have the calling to become the coordinator for next year?
      • I will graciously take this opportunity.
    • Gathering with Family North on Jan 7th
      • It will be at room 201 at 6:30pm (our regular time and place). Each family please bring snack. Justina will provide ice breakers. I will bring name tags. We as a large group will pray for Lord's guidance for the two fellowships. I will reach out to Natalie for their thoughts.
    • What's our mission statement?
      • Grow the families in Christ while supporting one another (applies to both the adults and children)
    • Emphasize the importance of prayer as a fellowship and Sunday morning bible study.
      • Our tentative future fellowship format will be: worship > discussion (i.e. Celebrate Recovery material) > small group prayers
    • Let's plan for next year. For example, any interest in a retreat?
      • We're leaning towards Cannon Beach Conference for the convenience. Would people be interested in Memorial Day weekend? (link here)
    • Let's align on our priorities: church > fellowship > personal plans

    Hello brothers and sisters,

I have another uplifting update from my in-person conversation with Natalie at church this morning:
    • Family North members are quite receptive to the idea of joining forces. More specifically, they don't perceive any barrier between the two fellowships because we belong to the same church body and many of us serve in the same ministries/capacities.
    • Family North also recognizes the importance of seeking God in making this important decision.
    • We will frame the Jan 7th meeting as "celebration" - Two fellowships get together, share struggles and look for a change.
    • I also shared our proposed future fellowship format, and would love to incorporate their feedback (if we decide to join force)
So far so good. See you soon!
    Michael

    Michael,

    Thanks for the update!

Also, thank you and Justina for driving the discussion to revamp our fellowship.

Let's pray God to guide our discussion and fellowship to the next phase.

    Best,
    Xiao
