Hi Everyone!

 

I hope that everyone is having an awesome beginning of the semester. 

Columbia's conference is just around the corner! I would like to remind everyone to please rsvp on the facebook event and use the link below to register!

There will be more information for a logistics meeting with representatives from Columbia University so please try to gather all the questions you have so that you all can ask them during this meeting.

On another note! As ECCSF there is a strong desire to build a solid communication among the many member schools. This communication would come in handy if as a whole we'd want to do an action or an event that we'd want to publicize. I bring this up because of the recent push for the DREAM Act. This is not to say that all the ECCSF member schools must be on board for the DREAM Act, but if there are member schools part of ECCSF that are fighting to bring more attention to the DREAM Act on their respective campuses you can always turn to other schools for support and network. 

As the e-board, we are here to help you and support you all as much as possible, but we do need more involvement if we want to make this work. 

I would like to take this opportunity to ask any schools to please express their ideas for actions to help continue supporting the DREAM Act. 

One way that we are trying to make communication flow better is through an actual website.

This website will show those not part of ECCSF what ECCSF is and will allow ECCSF members to communicate and share events very easily (crosses fingers). It takes no more than a minute to create an account with groupspaces so please, when you get a chance please sign-up. The googlegroup has been helpful but it's difficult for having conversations and sending out mass e-mails every time.

We will be checking out who's adding on to the site so it's not a lot of randoms. But we would like to encourage all members of your orgs to join, not just the reps! So send this out to your groups. :D Let me know if you have any problems with this!

In conclusion! I would like everyone to please add on to the forum - DREAM Act with what your plans are! Anyone can post so get at it!

Hi Xochitl,

I hope everything is going smooth. I am the ECCSF Rep for MEChA de Connecticut College. Unfortunately, we won't be joining la raza at Columbia's conference this year because it lands during our school's fall break and many of our members will be out of town. Sorry, but keep me updated with upcoming events and hope to see you all at the following conference.
