I have been dealing with the above named issue for a few weeks now and i don't know where the problem is. I have tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers again but still doesn't work. I have tried updating from windows update but still nothing. I have tried updating from manufactures site but still nothing. I have a Dell Latitude e5440. My only solution is to either disable or uninstall the Intel graphics driver. But then my machine runs on Microsoft basic driver when that happens and my Nvidia gpu is not detected from there on. So i need my Intel to work in order for my Nvidia to work properly. What i'm i missing?? Please help. I'm running out of my mind here!!
After about two months of digging throughout the internet for a definitive remedy, I realized no solution was working for me. Then I went back to my computer to study the installation logs. It is from there that I found the problem with black screen upon installing intel hd graphics drivers. Apparently, installation always stopped due to the computer's power plan/policy. It happens that the intel graphics driver won't work with the default Balanced Power Plan, which seems to be the default when installing Windows 10 1803. Therefore, to correct the black screen, I entered into Safe Mode and reinstalled the problematic intel graphics driver, then went to the Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options. Under the Balanced (recommended) option, I selected Change plan settings > Change advanced power settings, then expanding the 'Intel (R) Graphics Settings > Intel (R) Graphics Power Plan', I set both On battery and Plugged in to "Maximum Performance". Then I restarted my computer and voila! It worked. No black screen again.
I used to use the laptop for gaming about 2 years ago but stopped. Now I'm trying to get back into those same games and have found that they are incredibly slow - even with graphics at minimal. Some of the games tell me that my "graphics drivers are 597 days old" - which would match the date being shown as my driver date (5/19/2016). The problem is that when I go to intel to update my graphics driver, none of the ones I try (which I believe match my specifications) will successfully download because it tells me I don't "meet minimum requirements". When I try using the intel driver and support assistant, it tells me that there are no updates available. How can my graphics drivers be 597 days old with no updates available? Have intel stopped releasing graphics driver updates for my graphics card/processor?
I am resigned to the fact that I will probably have to purchase a new laptop in order to get a better gaming experience, but I just wanted to check whether I was missing anything obvious first. I'd appreciate any advice or assistance on whether I actually do have the most up to date graphics driver available to me or, if not, how I can go about installing one more up to date.
My real question is what, other than the graphics driver, would prevent my computer from downloading new games and not responding when clicking on a downloaded game. If the device is working properly, but is no longer supported by Intel, can that still be why I can no longer download and install these games?
I have a 5 year old Inspiron laptop with the i3 2.40ghz 2370m processor and Intel HD 3000 graphics card. It NEVER made the list as being supported for Windows 10 by Dell or Intel. I UPGRADED ANYWAY to Windows 10 when it was released. I have had a great experience with only a few driver issues. Mostly during the first year W10 was released. Last few months I've been using a 4k HDR TV as my primary display w/HDMI. I noticed when I 1st connected it with the newer 2.0 HDMI cable the card read the resolutions it could use that my TV supports like wider xvYCC EXTENDED GAMUT. The result is a wider and deeper range of color overall.
The Intel HD Graphics Driver is the latest driver release for Intel HD Graphics drivers running Windows. The drivers support HD graphics on Intel Core i3, Core i5, Core i7, various Pentium and Celeron processors. This is the recommended driver for the early access release of the brand-new Intel Graphics Command Center. If not already installed, this driver will add the Intel Graphics Command Center to the system.
Unlocked drivers: We heard how much our users want the freedom to upgrade their systems to our regularly released generic graphics drivers and enable our latest game enhancements, feature updates, and fixes. As of this release, Intel Graphics DCH drivers are now unlocked to upgrade freely between Computer Manufacturer (OEM) drivers and the Intel generic graphics drivers on Download Center. Simply use the EXE and enjoy the update on your 6th Generation Intel Processor platform or higher, and don't worry about your OEM customizations, they remain intact with each upgrade and the OEMs can maintain customizations separately via Microsoft* Windows Update. See the Release Notes section *2 for important information about this update.
Any graphics issues found using Intel generic graphics drivers should be reported directly to Intel. Corporate customers should always use OEM drivers and report all issues through the vendor they purchased the platforms and support through.
How did you get to W10?
Strange question but if upgraded to 10 during the 2015 frame period( when it was free) there are some license agreements you have made with MS, do you remember what they are? That upgrade was good for one year and that limit will soon be here.
There are lots of chatter on the windows 10 forum and it associated with graphics driver problems. Conesus seems to be to get the driver from machines manufacture because they may well have changed the INTEL driver to fit their particular design. As aside, a search of the MS dump crash analysis web site they state they have more issues with .dlls ( vendor graphics drivers than any other.)
Depending on the license you have you are probably well past the time MS allowed you to roll back to the old windows version.)
On Windows drivers are provided by the graphics card manufacturer (Intel).Windows update automatically installs graphics drivers, oryour computer manufacturer may provide its own version of the graphics drivers.
An NVIDIA GPU with graphics drivers capable of running CUDA 11.8, or above. These are bundled with the regular drivers for your NVIDIA GPU. Driver versions 522.06 (Windows) and 520.61.05 (Linux), or above are required.
Like NVIDIA and AMD, Intel releases regular graphics driver updates. Graphics driver updates are crucial for gaming. They often contain important optimizations that dramatically improve performance in newly released games. To ensure you get the best gaming performance, you should be using the latest graphics drivers.
Windows 10 should automatically be updating your drivers, but it may not update your Intel graphics drivers frequently enough. Windows is conservative about updating graphics drivers, as only PC gamers really need the latest graphics drivers whenever they're released.
If your computer is using graphics drivers customized by the manufacturer (e.g. Dell or HP), Intel's tool won't update them automatically and will inform you of this. You'll instead need to get the latest graphics driver updates directly from your computer manufacturer's website. Look for the download page offering drivers for your specific PC.
It's possible that some graphics hardware could have different options here, or that future drivers could change the options. Just click the question mark icon to the right of a setting to see a description of what a setting does if you need more information.
