Dear Friends of BCM:

We are delighted to announce new resources and study opportunities on restorative justice, for the holidays and beyond.  We will shortly follow up this email with a bulletin about upcoming Sabbath Economics resources from BCM as well, so stay tuned!

1)  Elaine and Ched’s long-awaited second volumeAmbassadors of Reconciliation: Diverse Christian Practices of Restorative Justice and Peacemaking—has arrived in our office.  We believe this now-completed project offers important biblical, analytical and practical insights for how we might broaden and deepen our violence-reduction work today.  Vol. II is now available from our website for $18 (includes shipping!): go to http://bcm-net.org/wordpress/resources/.  The attached flyer offers a special deal if you buy both volumes together!

2)  The upcoming January Bartimaeus Institute (Jan 18-22, 2010) in Oak View offers an opportunity to work with this Ambassadors of Reconciliation material with other committed practitioners.  Elaine and Ched will be joined by several special guests:

o       Nelson & Joyce Johnson of the Beloved Community Center in Greensboro;

o       Murphy Davis & Eduard Loring of The Open Door Community in Atlanta;

o       and Australian theologian Geoff Broughton.

Join us as we commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Greensboro Sit-Ins, and learn about the Civil Rights movement as an expression of public restorative justice.
If you can’t make it, consider sponsoring someone else to attend!  Flyer attached.

These resources will make great gifts for the holidays.   Thanks for your interest in our work, and blessed Advent to you.
