Howdy ECCC!
Mountain season is almost upon us, hope y'all are as excited as we are. I've got a handful of announcements.
First Weekend - Penn State
Our first race will be at Penn State on their local trails, on September 11th and 12th. They've been hard at work on their cross-country, short-track, downhill, and enduro courses, and are stoked to show us all their trails and welcome us back to racing!
The full event flyer and bikereg will be published really soon, but I've got two early announcements/notices:
1) Camping is $10 per person (covering both nights). The fee is non-optional. Penn State will be on the hook for the money if you don't pay, so _please_ ensure you pay for camping.
2) The downhill course is via shuttle, not chair-lift. Penn State has arranged shuttles up the mountain.
A big thank you to Penn State for setting up the weekend, and volunteering to start the season with this brand-new race!
Dirt Cup
To signify our return to racing, we're introducing a new "Dirt Cup" for riders that want an even longer season.
We're encouraging everyone interested to keep racing after mountain season is over, and come to our cyclocross races - you can even keep racing your mountain bike!
This year in addition to having MTB and CX championships, we'll also announce the top riders using combined results from MTB and CX for the "Dirt Cup".
Additional MTB Races
We are finalizing a couple of the races, but we should have the full calendar out soon.
The MTB season will start on September 11-12th at Penn State, and end on October 9/10th.
Expect another update next weekend if not sooner!
