Hi all,

Timothy sent a report from the AltCar expo, Santa Monica, with pictures to this group. It was 12,5 Mb large, so I guess that's why googlegroups didn't allow it to the list. Here are the same pictures in smaller versions.

TIMOTHY'S REPORT:
It went well...and yes, it took some energy getting there and back, 8-10 hours driving each way.

Arrived late Friday afternoon, enough time to walk around and inspect things, made friends with a nice couple from Alabama who offered me a corner of their booth. Was able to present most of the day Saturday, during the busy time. Brochures and business cards were given, good contacts were made, the slide show played on laptop. I was pleased and satisfied with my first "public appearance." Lots of room for growth. ;-)

The latest slide show from Hennka was awesome...thank you!!!

I have a few pics to send but don't have the right connection to upload at the moment...I'll send a detailed report later.

Returned to the workshop yesterday and checked in with the group. I have some followup communication from contacts to take care of.

The altcar expo was interesting...two mini-cooper EVs, a Tango, a Tesla, Chevy Volt mockup, conversions, bikes and scooters, etc. Several seminars were held on various topics, dominated by corporate talking heads. Also present were H2 fuel cell and natural gas cars. Lots of demo rides. Small venue, less attendance than last year.

As I awoke from a dream Saturday morning I had the strong impression that each of us has a specific mission, that we cannot accomplish it alone, and that we need each other to be successful. Hence the value of networks and cooperation, understanding each other...who we are, why we are here, what we are trying to do. Working alone does not work. ;-)

Best regards to all,

Timo

Here are some photos from the altcar expo...the friendly folks from Alabama who kindly shared their table with me and their invention...a trailer based mechanism that swaps battery modules (like Betterplace) in under a minute, fast charges them and is able to sustain one change every 10 minutes indefinitely. Good way to grow an infrastructure, mobile, plugs into the grid or ?.

Hello everyone.

Reima: & others: Gmail shows the pictures quite all right.

Jiri: I recall that there's a finnish file dump directory to host
miscellaneous files. Could the picture set be hosted in there?

Best regards,
Marko Nurminen
