The HubSpot Sales Chrome extension is a browser extension for Chrome that allows you to track and log your emails sent from Gmail and use some of the HubSpot sales tools directly in your inbox. Additionally, you can search your HubSpot contact database and initiate calls with contacts right from your inbox.

With the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension for Gmail or the HubSpot Sales Office 365 add-in, you can access your sales tools directly from your inbox. Refer to the table below to determine which extension or add-in is compatible with your setup.

You can now access your templates, documents, and sequences right from your Outlook inbox. To receive instant notifications for tracked emails, run Chrome with the HubSpot Sales Chrome extension installed or download the HubSpot Sales for Windows tray app. This is an additional component of the add-in that allows you to receive instant notifications without running Google Chrome.

I recommend to uninstall the extension, clear browser cache, log into your HubSpot account and then install the extension again. You'll also find a couple of other troubleshooting steps in this Knowledge base article.

Thank you. That worked. I had to remove an old and unused profile, to which Chrome was defaulting for some reason. But when I did that, and then followed your instructions above, the extension worked and emails sent from Gmail were logged in the CRM.

I looked everywhere but couldn't find what I needed- is there a way to customize the fields that show whenever you add a new contact from the gmail extension? There's a field for 'phone number,' but not 'mobile number,' and we want to avoid needing to go into the contact later and moving it so we can specify which phone type it is.

Heading into the Google account settings -> Security and deleting the HubSpot from the list of Third Party Apps with access to this account, then reconnecting the HubSpot Chrome Extension fixed this last problem.

So for my situation, the solution path was as follows:
1. Enable the toggle under Email Extension Settings in the Hubspot settings
2. Delete the Hubspot third party access in the Google account security settings
3. Reconnect the hubspot extension

@JS_Draft I don't think it's anything sneaky. The Chrome extension is available for all tiers. This ay seem silly, but are you signed into HubSpot? Can you confirm that in another tab? I know in the last year, I get kicked out daily (sometimes more than once per day) and hae sign back in. If you havent signed in for a bit, it may be that.

I am having the exact same issue, I have two companies, one the Gmail intigration works absolutely fine for, the other (seporate hubspot account and seporate gmail account) it allows me to log in before saying that their are no hubspot accounts for the email I am logged in to (their are, the rest of hubspot via the website works just fine). Did anyone in this thread ever find a solution?

If you downloaded the HubSpot Sales extension while logged into one Google Chrome profile but are currently logged into another profile, the extension may not appear in your browser window or you get an error that there are no HubSpot accounts linked with that email. Have you already tried switching to another profile in Chrome?

I am looking to move from my MacBook to the iPad and I was wondering if there are any folks that have done this. How would one go about tracking and logging emails that were done by the GMail extension on Chrome previously?

Using the HubSpot Gmail extension, I would like to move attachments from emails directly to Hubspot within my browser. Currently, I am downloading the attachments onto my hard drive, and reuploading them to HubSpot. I imagine this is an extra step and there is a way to do it within my browser using the extension.

I actually don't want every attachment to log, just specific ones that I select. Ideally, I would be able to move a specific attachment to a specific deal/contact/company in the form of a note with an attachment, all withing the extension. Is this possible? Or is it possible to add individual attachments to Hubspot manually from the extension at all? Thanks

Contacts created through the sales extension have the "Original source drill-down 1" value "Extension". That's how you can filter, find and delete them. I'd suggest creating a list that you can check.

All of a sudden my Gmail stopped working (at all, won't load and locks up my computer) when the Chrome extension is enabled. It was working fine until yesterday.

I've updated my computer, updated chrome, cleared cache, uninstalled then reinstalled the extension, logged out then logged back in, done everything I can think of. Worked through the troubleshooting steps on the KB.

I've even tried on multiple computers. Nothing seems to work. The extension renders Gmail unusable.

Has anyone else run into this or have a solution? Thanks!

I have had this same issue twice in the last 2 months. I have to turn off the HubSpot extension to begin sending emails again. Last time it sorted itself out within a day. But this time I am still waiting. Did anyone have an answer to this?

As the subject says, Gmail Hubspot sales extension constantly crashes and forces me to restart browser to attach or download files. I will sign in, be able to use the extension functions with emails for a period of time (it's unpredictable how long) and then all of a sudden, I'm signed out of Hubspot on gmail and i can't attached any files or download anything as well (docs, pics, etc). What the heck is happening? Is this a known bug? Is it being worked on currently?

We are using gmail not office 360. This problem has spread and is now impacting an additional two team members gmails it's really erroding confidence in hubspot functionality, especially because we rely on the extension because we use google advanced protection and cannot do the official integration

My CEO is having a similiar issue. We had him add the extension but turn off automatic logging and tracking. He said the settings keep changing on their own to turn on logging and tracking by default and when he goes to turn it off it crashes his gmail for 15+ minutes.

Sorry for the miscommunication @howardmarxb,

If a user's permission in your HubSpot account doesn't allow them to create/edit/delete a contact it will not allow them to create/edit/delete a contact through the Gmail Extension.

When a user adds the Gmail extension it has them sign in as the HubSpot User on the account and the permission set will follow through into the Gmail extension.

I hope that helped clarify better for you.

Hi Howard. As long as their permissions doesn't give them access to create a contact, it will not create a contact for you. The user has to sign into the extension from HubSpot, and the permission setting will follow suit there.

Hi, I had the extension on my Gmail and it was working great until this morning it wasn't appearing on my Gmail even though it was installed so I thought I would reinstall. Now I'm getting a message saying the app is blocked because the app tried to access sensitive info. Help?

Hi @Gianluca the HubSpot Sales extension only supports Gmail and Outlook email clients. Here's a list of the supported versions: What email clients does HubSpot Sales support? Outlook for Mac, Thunderbird and Apple Mail are not supported.

You can still use Gmail and have a personal domain e.g. @hubspot instead of @gmail. The steps required however are outside HubSpot. You will need to purchase wncf-ltd.com as a domain, and follow these instructions from Google on how to make a personal email domain. Support for this process is available on Google's Support Forums here.

Hello Roisin, please let me reprase:

Even though I already have a company domain,
I must re-buy it for/from gmail because I must use the gmail interface if I want to semi-automatically leave a copy of outcoming emails (BCC in hubspot: my...@bcc.hubspot.com ) and incoming emails ( forward to hubspot myid@@forward.hubspot.co ) inside hubspot crm.

1) Is my sumup correct?
2) Do you think that in a reasonable timelapse hubspot is planning to support other mail clients (like outlook for mac, or thunderbird, or email servers directly) so to make possible the semi-automatic or automatic log of email traffic inside hubspot?

Unfortunately I cannot grasp the gmail option "You can still use Gmail and have a personal domain e.g. @hubspot instead of @gmail" cause here in China Google is censored...
