Announcing the Asian American Issues conference, hosted by Stanford University and planned by the Asian American Students' Association and the Stanford Asian American Activism Committee. This year, the theme is Listen to the Silence - Justice, Unity, Action.
Every year, our conference attracts hundreds of local high school
students, college students from around the nation, and community
activists throughout California. The day-long event includes a keynote
speaker, series of workshops, and a concert in the evening, all aimed
at educating participants about community issues, building organizing
skills, and facilitating connections between activists and students.
Recognizing your important work in the Asian
American community, especially in solidifying the East Coast Asian American communities on college campuses, we would be honored if you attended our conference. It will take place on January 26, 2008. We will have a keynote speaker (TBA), panels on Access to Healthcare, Immigration, and Political Representation of Asian Americans, various workshops on problems facing API groups, a research forum of community-based research in Asian communities, a networking lunch with APA groups, and a concert in the evening. Food and housing will be 100% subsidized.
You can register for the conference at aasa.stanford.edu.
Happy Holidays!
