Deployment keys, lost in the cloud

Am I missing something. I set everything up quickly and easily.
Thanks. SSH into my instance, try to `git clone g...@github.com:me/
repo.git/`. fails. I get:

Permission denied (publickey).
fatal: The remote end hung up unexpectedly

Previously I ran the cap tasks, but as expected also failed. I have
`id_rsa and id_rsa.pub` on my local box. I'm assuming I need to upload
those to my ec2 instance and add something to github? I need some
direction.
