As the health care debate is finally approaching a head, all eyes have
turned to the Congressional Budget office's report on the costs of
this irresponsible legislation. Apparently House Democrats say the
CBO's report shows the legislation will cost $940 billion over 10
years and will reduce the deficit by more than $100 billion in that
first decade.(http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/35928063/ns/politics-
health_care_reform/)

Of course, it's all political rhetoric, skewed calculations, and
significant underestimates... and it will still leave 24 million
people uninsured.

americans-not-under-the-senate-health-bill/#more-3163)

Nor does it even consider the recent survey of doctors that says that
nearly half of primary care doctors in America could leave the medical
profession if Obamacare is passed. (http://www.themedicusfirm.com/
pages/medicus-media-survey-reveals-impact-health-reform)

While I believe that healthcare reform is definitely needed, I don't
believe that the fix the Congress is trying to force down our throats
is either intelligent or tenable. I am appalled by their lack of
vision and unwillingness to even consider other possible solutions.

But, even if the Democrats pass this bill, Republicans are already
pledging to repeal it, should they take control of either chamber of
Congress after November's elections. (http://www.thefoxnation.com/
health-care/2010/03/18/gop-pledges-repeal-obamacare).

States are also lining up to file lawsuits, should it pass. Virginia,
Idaho, and Utah have already passed laws to nullify ObamaCare's
mandate that everyone purchase health insurance. Florida and Arizona
are threatening lawsuits as well. Then there's the way the Democrats
are going about it. 13 states are threatening suits based on the deals
involved to attain votes (Cornhusker Kickback). (http://
www.usatoday.com/news/washington/2009-12-30-health-ags_N.htm)

Finally, The Landmark Legal Foundation has promised a lawsuit over the
constitutionality of the Slaughter Rule, or "deem and pass". (http://
www.landmarklegal.org/DesktopDefault.aspx)

Even if Congress passes this mess, it'll be tied up in the court
system for some time before anything comes from it. Not that it really
matters, since any benefits from this legislation won't be available
before 2013 anyway!
