Greetings Everyone:

As Program Officer for this OA eBook Usage Data Trust pilot project, I look forward to working with this community throughout the user-centered design and feedback stages of this project.

To start, I invite you to participate directly with the project through one of its new community forums.

Last week, in conjunction with Open Publishing Fest, we launched six stakeholder discussion forums and two working groups. These online forums aim to foster respectful email discussion and generate stakeholder input about the design and sustainability of the data trust. Insights and feedback generated within these forums will inform the project’s staff, consultants, Technical Advisory Group, and Advisory Board.

  • Each Stakeholder Discussion Forum will serve as an open, public forum for clusters of scholarly communications stakeholders to explore project-related topics including data trust personas, data use cases, ethics, stewardship, GUI design, data management, privacy and security controls, sustainability, and governance.

  • Working Groups have been formed to bring together thought leaders interested in helping the project team and its advisors think through: 1) the data trust’s technical standards and norms, and 2) our privacy, security, and ethics principles and policies.

Using this form, please join the specific stakeholder community groups and/or working groups that match your interests, expertise, and level of desired engagement. I also welcome suggestions of additional groups that are needed to fully include the wide range of perspectives involved in OA books - please email suggestions my way.

This announce list will remain active, receiving quarterly updates from across the project.

We hope that you will join us as we begin developing use cases and personas in these fora over the coming weeks.

Warm Regards,

Christina

PS: If you know of others who might be interested in participating, please forward this invitation on!
