9 people (BA, CE, HL, KS, KW, MA, PRS, PW, SD) participated in up to 3 active working group meetings.
The Project Management Working Group reviewed developments with the leadership of the Core Outcome Measures in Effectiveness Trials (COMET) Initiative to explore areas of mutual interest. They were looking for AI tools to detect outcomes reported in study publications and we suggested checking with PICO Portal.
The Setting the Scientific Record on FHIR Working Group discussed challenges with server package setup to apply changes to improve the performance of index and search functions on the FEvIR Platform.
The Statistics Terminology Working Group reviewed two comments regarding p-value. In response to a comment suggesting addition of a comment for the ‘Bayesian p-value’ we added a comment and also added a new term (posterior predictive p-value). In response to a comment regarding clarifying the ‘null hypothesis’ we discussed defining the null hypothesis and started with a definition of its parent term (hypothesis test attribute). We discussed whether we should move ‘hypothesis test attribute’ to become a type of study design feature but did not decide to move it. We also discussed coordinating the ‘TBD’ codes with newly created STATO codes and will consider rescheduling the weekly Ontology Management Working Group meetings. There are currently 5 statistic terms open for voting:

Comment for application (if any) |
A statistic that represents the relative support for competing hypotheses, based on the observed data under an assumed modeling framework. |
A hypothesis testing measure may be used within the frequentist framework (Neyman-Pearson framework) or the Bayesian framework. Within the frequentist framework, the criterion for rejecting the null hypothesis is typically expressed as a p-value that is less than an alpha setting. Within the Bayesian framework, the approach for rejecting the null hypothesis is typically based on a Bayes factor. |
A hypothesis testing measure that represents the probability of obtaining a result at least as extreme as that actually obtained, assuming the null hypothesis is true. |
Hypothesis testing measure
is defined as a statistic that represents the result of evaluating the congruence between a hypothesis and the statistics derived from the observed data. |
A p-value which represents the probability of obtaining a result at least as extreme, in one direction, as that actually obtained. |
P-value is defined as a hypothesis testing measure that represents the probability of obtaining a result at least as extreme as that actually obtained, assuming the null hypothesis is true. A p-value for one-sided test interprets 'at least as extreme as' without attention to the absolute value of the result. The null hypothesis is expressed with a single threshold. |
A hypothesis testing measure that is the predictive probability that a statistic is equal to or more extreme than that observed under the assumptions of the model. |
Hypothesis testing measure is defined as a statistic that represents the result of evaluating the congruence between a hypothesis and the statistics derived from the observed data. |
An aspect, characteristic, or feature of a statistical hypothesis test. |
