to COVID-19 Knowledge Accelerator

9 people (BA, EA, HL, IK, JD, KR, KS, MG, RC) participated today in up to 2 active working group meetings.

You are welcome to join the Code System Development effort -- see Invitation to join Expert Working Group. At this time we currently we have 62 people signed up from 27 countries In 6 continents (Australia, Austria, Bangladesh, Brasil, Canada, Costa Rica, Czech Republic, Egypt, Finland, France, Ghana, Greece, India, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Lebanon, Malaysia, Nigeria, Peru, Romania, South Africa, South Korea, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, United Kingdom, United States)

The Project Management Group decided to cancel the Thursday 7 am meeting series as there are 2 other weekly meetings for this group and less overall demand for FHIR schema changes as the resources are stabilizing.  The group reviewed the Clinical Trial Results Reporter and mapped the results to include an EvidenceReport Resource to fully summarize the results.  EvidenceReport.section elements contain entryClassifier (CodeableConcept datatype) and entryReference (Reference datatype) elements as the primary methods for content support.  In a specific example with 202 FHIR Resources (Group, EvidenceVariable, and Evidence) to complete a report we recognized a need to express a simple quantity in an EvidenceReport section so will add an entryQuantity to the EvidenceReport Resource StructureDefinition.

The Content Classification and Tools Development Work Group is focusing on the needs of the Systematic Meta-Review Project Group. We are using PICO Portal to support our search and selection efforts. In the effort to add steroid terms to the “Steroid Keyword” in PICO Portal to facilitate search for CORD-19 entries we added 4 additional terms for inhaled steroids. We will add such terms to the search strategies for our 8 other collections. Over the next two weeks we expect to:

  1. Complete precise search strategies for 9 research collections
  2. Load all 9 search collections to PICO Portal to de-duplicate and produce one common collection (estimated about 300 entries)
  3. Pilot process efforts to manage article selection for the systematic meta-review
  4. Progress the protocol to a version that can be registered (posted/published) and prepare to formally start the systematic meta-review.
