Matt can tell ya... I had an idea to do the very same thing (scroll to bottom) as the extra XP thing and never got the time in order for it... anyway...

On a not unentirely unrelated note, have you read some of the Forge of War stuff?  They're intent on putting the suck into Eberron.  I really, really do not want to see analog after analog of other creatures with Warforged equivalents.  Failed experiments, sure.  But stuff like this?  http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/ex/20070618a&page=5  Bleh!

Yes, the Keepers were the idea I had a while back, told MAtt about and apparently got picked up by the bugs.

Don't have Forge of War yet.  I should be getting it and Complete Champion on Friday.

For the full credit, please send me whatever flavor differences you had in mind for your "Keepers" organization.  Thanks.

You will probably get a few more "warforged" analogs before it is all over.  On the "upside" it was the only one in the book, and made sense given the context.  They have air power, we need air power, we make things ... ergo, mechanical airpower in the theme of the world.  It could have been "worse" they could have introduced aeroships a la Castle Falkenstien.

As for actual flavor differences, the main exclusions of the article from my ideas would be the mechanics. I never had any plans to have "tangible" bennies based on your standing within the organization.

MY idea was a semi-secret group within the Gatekeepers, an actual part of their hierarchy, which I called the Warders. Their goal was to travel out from the Eldeen Reaches to other parts of the world to keep a constant vigil upon the Seals and act as a sort of spec-ops against any parties which attempted to weaken or destroy them. Unlike the Gatekeepers, the Warders numbers would mostly be made up of (class-wise) fighters (Wildcats), rural-type rogues (Snakes) and rangers (Owls).

The Wildcats act as the main offensive force of the Warders, the front line combatants when someone/something overtly makes an attempt against a Seal. They also act as the main guards for outbound Gatekeepers on important missions. The Owls would act as a back-up to the Wildcats in battle and as the main guards of the Seals themselves. They are the most suited to keeping vigil in the wilderness and can use either ranger spells or their companions as messengers when danger looms. The Snakes act as the spies and main humanoid messengers between the rest of the Warders. They also keep a more secretive eye on groups which plot against the Gatekeepers and the Seals. In battle, they act as the sabateurs and assassins of the Warders.

When I presented this, I sort of wanted Kylar to be trying to gain the position of Wildcat and the mission he was given (after the change) was to be his final test. Yeah, kind of a retcon, but nothing would really be changing, only the purpose behind his mission. So, that's what I gots.

Which mission are you talking about?  The repairing of the seals in Q'barra?

Yes. Instead of trying to become a full Gatekeeper (as Kylar the druid was), he'd have been going for becoming a Wildcat Warder (as Kylar the fighter). In a minor way, it would also give Kylar a "running mission," so that whenever he finally finds and cures his brother and kills Gorefang and all that (least that's the plan), he wouldn't be adrift in the world. He'd still have a purpose and plenty of ways to go about it. I realize the game may never reach that point what with the schedules of everyone, but it's something for me to strive for with the character and means he's not a one trick pony.
