Folks,

Just wanted to see who would be interested in getting together on July 4th at Chez K.  Depending on who is available, we can decide what activity, if any, we can plan on doing - gaming of the RP variety, theme movie night (bad, blaxploitation, horror, pulp, etc.), gaming of the non-RP variety, and so forth, or we can just "hang out".  I do not have a functional Bar-B-Q, but we can do a "pot luck" lunch/dinner thing - if that is cool with everyone.  Again, depending on who is available, we can parse out who will bring what.

I now return you to your regularly scheduled day...

On the flipside, because I have to sleep later than the rest of you, I'm good from no earlier than noon and onward.

Matt told me you all had agreed on gaming that day at Ken's, with Ken running his game, and stopping around 8:00. Has that changed?

My understanding at last game leaving was start 'round noon and end 'round 8 or 9 for the folks what had to get up early.

My day off is carved in not-quite stone, so it's all systems go for me.  If we want to make food, I have a few dishes I can whip up.

That was the "plan".  We would be playing Age of Wyrms from noon - 8pm, give or take a half hour.  I just wanted to double check who was available and if there were any new restrictions.  It looks like the "plan" is still good to go.

As for food, Matt and I were talking at work and we thought a "sub bar" might work better... just some meats, cheeses, veggies (lettuce, tomatoes, onions, etc.), condiments and hoagie rolls and let everyone make their own sandy-witches. Maybe toss in some chips and something sweet, like cookies or something. Roll in the drinks and we got a 4th of July spectacular game that won't break teh bank and doesn't require any real prep time other than making sure everyone has stuff they want.

Here is the plan for July 4th as far as food and drinks go.  Kendra has offered to go shopping on July 3rd to get the sandwich fixings, but she needs to know what everyone's preferrences are.  We'll cover the expense of that.  We need volunteers for drink acquisition and sides (chips, crackers, cheese balls, veggies, dips, potato salad, macaroni salad, mixed green salad, etc.)procurement.  So who wants to sign up for drinks (I think no more than two people)? Sides (whomever is left)?

Regarding what to purchase, please reply with the following information, so that whomever is buying knows what the heck to get. :)
==================================================
Sandwich meat preference (ham, turkey, roast beef, pastrami, etc.)?
Sandwich cheese preference (american, cheddar, swiss, etc.)?
Sandwich condiment preference (ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.)?
Sandwich veggies preference (lettuce, tomato, onion, olives, peppers, etc.)?
Drink preference (Coke, Diet Coke, Diet Sprite, Root Beer, etc.)?
Sides preference (see above)?

=====================
Ken & Kendra
Drinks: Coke & Diet Sprite
Sides: BBQ Chips, Nacho Doritos, Veggies & Dip

Let's try to get all of the preferences in by Monday evening.

Thanks :)
-Ken

Cheese - Swiss or cheddar's my thing
Condiments - deli mustard, mayo, oil and vinegar
Veggies - lettuce, tomatoes, onions, banana peppers
Drinks - Diet Coke or Root Beer
Sides - Chips (any really, though BBQ and Sour Cream and Onion are me fav), onion dip and maybe some cookies or the like

I'll volunteer for part of the drinks after we decide what we all wants.

My preferences are pretty much the same as Adam's, so that was easy.

Me and Jen can take care of a 12 pack of cokes (as usual) and a side. I was thinking maybe one of those cool veggie platters with the blue cheese and ranch dips?

I'm kosher when it comes to sandwhich meats, so turkey and roast beef's availability will appease the angry and ravenous godling that is my stomach.

Thus I've highlighted my choices:

Sandwich meat preference (ham, turkey, roast beef, pastrami, etc.)?
Sandwich cheese preference (american, cheddar, swiss, etc.)?
Sandwich condiment preference (ketchup, mustard, mayo, etc.)?
Sandwich veggies preference (lettuce, tomato, onion, olives, peppers, etc.)?  <-- If anyone else would like spinach, I'd appreciate some.  If I'm the only one, please don't bother and just get lettuce.
Drink preference (Coke, Diet Coke, Diet Sprite, Root Beer, etc.)?  <-- I'm currently hardcore on my no soda kick (No HFC to be precise).  I'll take care of myself in this regard.
Sides preference (see above)? --> Most likely, if you put it in front of me, I'll eventually eat it.

By the way, I've got a line on some really good sausages from a really nice butcher (I finally found one!) if anyone's interested.  As a side, I was going to make my old standbye, baked macaroni and cheese, but that was before the sandwich proposal.  If it's desired as a side, I can still do it.  No real extreme effort on my part as I know the recipe so well I can prepare it blindfolded in a hurricane, and I can make it the night before and serve it reheated, or I can prepare and then just bake it there if that's prefered/allowed/desirable (I personally like it equally both ways).

Okay, we have everybody but Ryan for the sandwich stuff.

Drinks - Adam, Matt, Jen (I think we are good here)
Sides - Veggie tray (Matt), Potato Salad (Jen, maybe?), Mac & Cheese (Justin, maybe?), Ryan (chips, maybe?)

I'm cool with your yummy potato salad, Jen.  What about the rest of y'all?

I am less of a fan of baked mac & cheese, Justin.  But I am but one of seven people, so if everybody else is up for it, bring it on.  (Besides, you can always bring home the leftovers.) :)

If Justin wants to go ahead with the mac and cheese yumminess (which both me and Jen thinks sounds really good) Jen will bring a fruit tray to go along with my veggie tray. That way we have more of a variety of stuff and don't get all bogged down with starch overload.

Veggie tray... check. Mac n' cheese... sure, had it before. Chips... always good. Potato salad... ya'll can all have that. I'm not a fan. Nothing against Jen, just a blanket dislike.

Sandwich meat preference (ham, turkey, roast beef)
Sandwich cheese preference (yes)
Sandwich condiment preference (mustard, mayo)
Sandwich veggies preference (lettuce, tomato, onion, black olives)
Drink preference (Coke Zero, which I'll bring)
Sides preference (see above)

Since we already have plenty of sides options, I'll opt to bring dessert.  Who's in mood for a Klondike bar? ;-)  For the diabetics in the audience, is there another dessert option that would suitable?
