Challenge Rating:

Advancement:

3 HD (Medium); 4–6 HD (Large)

Level Adjustment:

Wolves are pack hunters known for their persistence and cunning.

Combat

A favorite tactic is to send a few individuals against the foe's front while the rest of the pack circles and attacks from the flanks or rear.

Trip (Ex): A wolf that hits with a bite attack can attempt to trip the opponent (+1 check modifier) as a free action without making a touch attack or provoking an attack of opportunity. If the attempt fails, the opponent cannot react to trip the wolf.

Skills: *Wolves have a +4 racial bonus on Survival checks when tracking by scent.

The same information is in the MM1.  Use the advancement rules in the MM1 to take the 2HD Wolf to a 5HD Wolf.  I think the problem lay in my word choice of Giant instead of Large.  (My bad.)

Yup, there would be the problem. ;)

Only "giant" wolves I know of are dire.

Okay, so does the second function of the Aura still allow the Displacement effect of the Shroud to work against aberrations? And that means that if aberrations are present with non-aberrations, the Displacement effect only works against the aberrations, leaving the non-aberrations unaffected by the Displacement?

The Displacement effect supercedes the "glow" and will always work against aberrations.

When within 60' of an aberration, he appears to glow to non-aberrations who observe him.
