If the Gate of Eternity listed in the Forge of War requires 15 keys ... <sigh> ... on the upside, I have art work now. :)

Don't feel too bad... Justin will confirm that for over a year now there was a character in my Dalton game named Forerunner, who turned out to be the big living weapon used by the shadowy organization that was harrassing the heroes. The game took place in the DC universe.

I get my DC comics this week and find on the cover, and in the story, the shadowy organization that is harrassing the various heroes of the Multiverse send out their new living weapon to take down the heroes getting close to their plans... Forerunner.

Luckily the characters are somewhat different, but still... dammit all...
I think we need like a tin foil tent or something... or at least some way to recoup the losses we're racking up by other people using our ideas. Hell, one of the guys up in Dalton is planning on running a pick-up Star Wars game that literally uses my idea (Empire wins, Luke joins Emperor, main heroes captured/hiding/dead, etc.) for one several years back, just one movie earlier. I tell ya, it's a conspiracy.

I can confirm.

I continue in my efforts to turn the bugs against their masters by stealing ideas for my games from stuff I haven't even read yet.  If I can refine and reproduce the technique, I'll let you know.

You know though, the Gate of Eternity doesn't seem like a direct copy of yours, aside from the name.  If anything, it looks more like a Stargate/that round sentient time portal from those two episodes of Star Trek.  And honestly, with all the extraplanar crap flying through the realms, a portal through time and space is really a foregone conclusion.

Still, pretty darn close.

The Time/Space Gate Idea has been around for a while.  Although I do like the Harlan Ellison version, personally.  It was more of a question of the "how" of the Gate's activation that I was wondering about.

Probably not.  If they were going to have a number of keys, and they were going to be a number other than 3, they'd probably stick with either 12 or 13 given Eberroni numerological patterns.  I think you dodged the bullet with the number 15.

Yeah, that was a "tiny" part of why I chose 15 keys.  The main reason has more to do with plotion density.  "The Plot Must Flow ..."
